The Reverend Dr. Daniel Rodriguez Schlorff, a native Hoosier, has lived in Connecticut for the past 11 years. He was ordained by his local church in 2000, now recognized by the Alliance of Baptists, Welcoming and Affirming Baptists, and Baptist Peace Fellowship/Bautistas por la Paz, and in 2005 by the American Protestant Union.
Daniel’s four units (1,600 hours) of clinical pastoral education were completed at Stamford and Norwalk Hospital, and he has worked as a chaplain in settings ranging from hospital psychiatric units to nursing homes. Following divinity school and an additional master’s in religious studies, Daniel completed a Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Care and Counseling through Pacific School of Religion, Berkeley, as well as fulfilling course requirements for the Certificate of Sexuality and Religion.
Aside from chaplaincy and pastoral counseling, Daniel has training and licensing in financial services, working with a firm in Stratford, CT. He sees an individual’s relationship with money as a mirror for that can help individuals get clear on their deepest beliefs about themselves.
When not engaged in ministry or financial services, Daniel enjoys contributing to his community as a board member, performing with professional and university-related musical ensembles, snuggling with his dog, reading poetry and nonfiction, and staying fit.
